Underdog Fantasy Daily Pick’Em Entry – October 12
Spencer Strider – Lower than 8.0 Strikeouts
The Braves’ backs will be against the wall with their season on the brink on Thursday (two cliches in one sentence). But I don’t think Spencer Strider is going to get Higher than eight K’s. He got eight on the dot in seven innings in his only postseason outing this season. I can see him getting the quick hook tomorrow if he gets into any kind of trouble. Lower than eight, it is.
Austin Riley – Higher than 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs
Austin Riley has topped the 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs in his past two games, so Atlanta losing hasn’t been his fault. I expect the good times at the plate to continue for him tomorrow. He’s hit Thursday’s starter, Ranger Suarez, great over the whole of his career – he’s slashed .333/.455/.611 over 22 plate appearances.
Ranger Suarez – Higher than 3.5 Strikeouts
Assuming Atlanta doesn’t get to him early and often, Ranger Suarez should cruise past the 3.5 strikeouts bar tomorrow. He’s gone higher than 3.5 K’s in eight straight starts – you have to go back to August 1st to find the last time he was on the bump and didn’t punch out at least four batters (he only chalked up three strikeouts that game).
