Williams Contreras is having a really solid first season in Milwaukee and is on a particularly hot stretch currently. He has hits in eight straight games and nine of his last ten. As for his total bases in those games, he’s topped 1.5 in all but two of his last ten games. Look for the good times to keep rolling for Contreras on Thursday in St. Louis.
Jose Berrios – Toronto – Higher than 6.0 Strikeouts
Jose Berrios has been bringing the heat this season in Toronto, sending opposing batters back to the dugout in defeat. While he averages a shade under six K’s per outing this season, he’s been especially potent as of late. He’s whiffed eight, seven, and seven batters in his last three starts. Thursday’s opponent, the New York Yankees, strikeout above league average this season, so the conditions should be good for Berrios to go higher than six strikeouts.
Ozzy Albies – Atlanta – Higher than 1.5 Total Bases
Choosing any Atlanta player to go higher on a batting projection is normally a smart play this season. This is especially true right now for Ozzy Albies. He’s beaten the 1.5 total bases projection in seven straight games and eight of his last nine. Facing a rookie hurler on Thursday, Jake Irvin, I think Albies can have a day.
