College Football Pick Of The Day (November 7th): NCAA Week 10 Spread Pick
For today’s college football pick of the day, I’m looking at the 19th-ranked Iowa Hawkeyes hosting Purdue in Kinnick Stadium. Taking unders in Iowa Hawkeye games is just automatic. The Hawkeyes, under Kirk Ferentz, are one of the best defensive units in the nation. They’re allowing just 12.5 points per game. They’re also holding teams to just around 80 rushing yards.
Purdue’s offense has been up and down under Ryan Browne. They can put up points against softer defenses. However, we all know from watching that this Iowa unit is different. The Boilermakers may be averaging around 29.5 points per game. Just wait until they run into this stout Iowa defense. It won’t fly. Iowa’s defense should bottle up the run and force Purdue into obvious passing situations.
Four of the last five Iowa Hawkeye games have gone under. I expect that to continue, especially at home. The Hawkeyes just went on the road and took care of business against Northwestern, 24-10. Cool weather in Iowa City will only help the under.
The Pick: Under 45.5
