College Football Pick Of The Day (November 3rd): NCAA Week 10 Spread Pick

For today’s Week 10 college football pick of the day, I’m looking at the Iowa vs. Northwestern game. The 21st-ranked Hawkeyes head to Evanston for a Saturday night showdown at the new Ryan Field against a solid Northwestern squad. Both teams sit at 6-2 overall and 3-2 in the Big Ten, but this one feels primed for a lower-scoring, physical battle. An under in an Iowa game? Shocker!

Iowa’s defense continues to be one of the best in the country. The Hawkeyes are allowing just 12.5 points per game and recently shut out Wisconsin. They’ve been a nightmare against the run. Iowa’s overall style is methodical and low-variance, and their games have gone under many times this season.

Northwestern averages plenty of points. However, their defense is also very solid, holding opponents to just over 18 points per game. The Wildcats’ offense can be explosive at home, but they haven’t faced a defense of Iowa’s caliber.

This is a cool late-fall type of weather in the upper 40s with a light wind off the lake. You can find this at 46 on most books still. Iowa has only had two overs this year, against Northern Iowa and Washington. Northwestern has only had one over in the last three games. In five of these teams’ last meetings against each other, four of the games have hit 46 points or less.

The Pick: Under 46 Points
