First off, if you are still alive in your initial NFL survivor pool, hats off to you! If you are in a second, third, fourth, or fifth-chance pool, welcome! NFL Survivor has been a battle this season. No matter how you are still playing, it’s time to dive into The Weekly Sweat. Let’s make our NFL Survivor picks for Week 8.
The weekly theme has been avoiding the popular play. For another week, last week the chalkiest play on the board fell as the Houston Texans lost outright. This week the Cincinnati Bengals will likely be the most popular team, as they play the Titans. They should be a good pick. Should anyways! Keep that in mind if you ride with them. The Dallas Cowboys may also be a more popular pick. Arizona has proven they aren’t a team to be doubted this year, however.
The Lock: New England Patriots
If you still have the New England Patriots available, they are the best option this week in my opinion. On the road in division isn’t the most ideal, but. It’s the Miami Dolphins, coming off a win over the Jets, so let’s not get crazy that they are good. If this Patriots team has proven they are good at one thing, it’s beating bad football teams. They held in with the Bears on Thursday Night Football, and have now had a long week to recover and prepare for Miami.
The Backup Plan: Jacksonville Jaguars
Indianapolis is already waving the white flag on the season. Guard Quinten Nelson was traded to Seattle, and defensive tackle DeForest Buckner was traded to San Francisco. Wide receiver Josh Downs has requested a trade and “everyone is available,” according to reports. Jacksonville, on the other hand, has been playing like a well-oiled machine. This matchup doesn’t have a long history of close games. The better team just wins. Jacksonville is the easy play.
Degen Special: Las Vegas Raiders
Already played New England and Jacksonville? Need something a little more gross to play and not chalky like Cincinnati and Dallas? May I interest you in Kirk Cousins and the Las Vegas Raiders? It doesn’t sound that appealing, and they are actually underdogs on the road. But it’s the New York Jets. They fell apart last week against Miami. They looked like we expected them to look. Star players are yelling at coaches on the sidelines, and it’s quickly imploding.
Vegas hasn’t been half bad this year. After starting 3-0, they took the Chiefs to the wire. They kept it close against Buffalo late. The Patriots blew them out in a bad spot, and they lost to the Rams. But Cousins has looked good, and this isn’t a bad team. If you want to shake it up and be different from the rest of your pool. You Like That? This Degen play is for you.
