College Football Pick Of The Day (October 19th): NCAA Week 8 Spread Pick

For today’s Week 8 college football pick of the day, I’m looking at Friday night’s matchup between Air Force and Wyoming. Wyoming hosts Air Force at War Memorial Stadium, and the Cowboys are a 5-point dog. Air Force enters at 5-1 with an elite rushing attack averaging 343 yards per game. They are scoring 30.8 points per contest.

However, the Falcons travel into one of the toughest environments in the Mountain West, where altitude at 7,2220 feet and a hostile home crowd can disrupt opposing offenses. Wyoming sits at 4-3 overall and remains perfect at home this season. They are allowing just 20.9 points per game and recently handled Northern Illinois 41-23.

Quarterback Tyler Hughes provides a dual-threat attack that can sustain drives and keep Air Force’s defense on the field. While Wyoming’s offense averages only 18.3 points, the Cowboys cover frequently and limit explosive plays at home.

The historical record in Laramie heavily favors the home side. The last time Air Force won in Wyoming was in 2012, by a single point. Since then, Wyoming has taken the last five meetings in Laramie, including a 31-19 victory in 2024 and a 17-14 win in 2022.

Air Force’s line has moved from -6.5 to -4, signaling market respect for the home dog. Grab the +5 now before it drops more. Sophomore Evan Medders has performed well in place of injured starter Liam Szarka. However, the Falcons still face a significant road test against a team that thrives in their unique setting.

The Pick: Wyoming +5
