While the UFC continues to be the king when it comes to MMA and gambling, there is more MMA than ever to bet on now. Promotions all over the world as well as domestic ones are showing up in sportsbooks. The advantage here is that the data is usually quite a bit less sharp than when you’re making MMA predictions for the UFC. So we’ve decided to dig into some each week to get you started on your regional MMA journey. This week we head overseas for Cage Warriors 211 from Rome, Italy for our regional MMA pick.

MMA Regional Pick of the Week: Cage Warriors 211
Cage Warriors Featherweight Fight: Giuseppe Mastrogiacomo vs Alexis Tsarmantidis
Card Start Time: Saturday (10/17), 12:00pm EST (UFC Fight Pass)
The co-main event on Saturday afternoon’s fight card is one that could catapult the winner into a fight for a title or the big shows. Giuseppe Mastrogiacomo has won three straight, including two by finish, since dropping a fight to tough Aiden Lee. Alexis Tsarmantidis is similarly riding a three-fight streak since a loss to top prospect, Max Lally.
With the two being in a similar spot, I’m backing the over 2-to-1 underdog. The Greek fighter, Tsarmantidis, brings a grind to his game that you love to back. He aggressively gets to the grappling and zaps the power and speed of his opponents. That grind may not always look pretty, but it has led to upset victories over Matthew Elliott and Oliver Tero.
On the other hand, the lone loss for Mastrogiacomo came from not being able to handle that style. Aiden Lee rushed into the clinch with him only for the Italian to immediately give up his back. If that style gave him fits, the style of Tsarmantidis should get an underdog hit here.
