While the beginning of NLCS Game 3 looked very much like a pitchers’ duel, that didn’t stop us from cashing yet again with a YRFI play. We’re white how and we’re looking to keep the run going. We have some NRFI and YRFI picks for October 15.

MLB NRFI and YRFI Picks – October 15th
Tampa Bay Rays vs. Cleveland Guardians
First Pitch – 1:00 pm EST
Progressive Field – Cleveland, OH
Broadcast – TBS
We’ll kick off the first game of our championship double header with an NRFI play. Gavin Williams is first to the mound for the Guardians and he has been the saving grace of the squad. After finishing the regular season second in strikeouts, he’s put together an above average playoffs as well. He’s thrown 11.2 innings and allowed just two runs for a 1.52 ERA. He’s also fanned 24 in that span for 18.5 strikeouts per nine innings. I’d take those kinds of numbers against just about any offense out there, but especially against one that is middle of the road like Tampa Bay.
On the other side, we have an offense that was weak for most of the season. The Guardians ranked 24th in the majors in scoring runs. On Tuesday, they didn’t exactly blow up the scoreboard either. They went scoreless for the first six innings and managed just one run on six hits over the full game. That’s good news for Griffin Jax, who the Guardians have not had a chance to see all year.
NRFI/YRFI Bet for October 15: No (-160)
Milwaukee Brewers vs. Los Angeles Dodgers
First Pitch – 8:00 pm EST
Dodger Stadium – Los Angeles, CA
Broadcast – FS1
Technically, the Brewers have not named their starting pitcher for Thursday yet. There is some speculation that they will go back to Dustin May, but he did throw a relief inning just three days prior. Regardless as to who it is, the Dodgers don’t seem to be putting up numbers. They were held scoreless for the first five innings with Robert Gasser on the mound Wednesday. They also sent just seven batters to the plate over the first two innings. That slow going should continue for at least the first inning Thursday.
The other side of the equation features Tyler Glasnow. Apart from some issues with walks, he looked good in his lone playoff appearance this year. Not only that, but he has been historically good against the Brewers. Although he hasn’t faced them this year, in two appearances last season, he logged 11.0 innings with just one run. He also struck out 11 batters with just six hits allowed. That should provide the confidence needed to back him with an NRFI here.
