MLB NRFI and YRFI Picks – October 10th
Chicago White Sox vs. Cleveland Guardians
First Pitch – 8:00 pm EST
Progressive Field – Cleveland, OH
Broadcast – TBS
This series gave us another NRFI hit on Thursday in Chicago, and now we head to Ohio to see if we can get another one. All of the signs point to yes, particularly with Gavin Williams on the hill. The righty has thrown 6.0 innings in this series and allowed just two runs on five hits. Not only that, but he has fanned 12 batters. Perhaps that’s not surprising being that he finished first in the American League in strikeouts. It’ll help matters that the top three guys in their lineup are hitting just .250 off of Williams. He should cruise in the first inning.
The bottom of the first will be aided by the lack of hitting from the Guardians. They have struggled to score runs all season, finishing 24th in the majors in terms of runs per game. Now they’ll face Sean Burke, who had almost no issues with them in Game 2. He tossed 5.1 innings and allowed just one run. He also only allowed one hit while striking out six. With the entire Guardians roster going 1-for-17 against him on their careers, I foresee him having another successful outing.
