Jets vs Bears Prediction & Picks: NFL Week 4

The Jets are the side Sean and Ryan want no part of. They head to Chicago, IL on the back end of a road back-to-back, and the guys said Breece Hall is out, which leaves an offense they don’t see winning many matchups against the Bears. Kickoff is Sunday, October 4 at 1:00 PM ET, and the Bears were 3-point favorites with a total of 43 when the guys taped on September 30. Both picks were made on NFL Picks Week 4 (Ep. 2695).

Jets vs Bears Odds

The Bears were 3-point favorites over the Jets with a total of 43 when the guys taped on September 30.

Our Picks

The guys think losing Breece Hall limits what the Jets can be. In their read, neither of these teams has been great against the run, so the real question was which one you trust to run the ball, and the answer was Chicago. One of the guys called the Bears backfield a candidate for the best tandem in the league, and they have been impressed with how the Chicago offensive line is playing.

Then there’s Geno. Sean and Ryan have talked on the show about how good he is indoors on turf, and this one is outside in the long grass in Chicago. They gave him credit for not having a bad game yet. They also pointed out he was one of the favorites to lead the league in interceptions, and they aren’t willing to keep betting on a clean game against a Bears defense they say keeps coming up with clutch turnovers. They know that turnover luck should regress eventually, but they haven’t seen it yet, and they think Geno is due.

Chicago has its own quarterback question. As of taping the guys expected a backup to start and were sure it wasn’t Caleb, and they read the 3 points as a number priced for that, well short of where it would sit with Caleb. The guys thought Keenum was perfect in the Bears’ Monday night game against the Eagles, though they credited part of that to the defense he was facing. Whoever starts, they think a new guy under center tends to give a team a bump, and Ben Johnson will grab every advantage he can. The sideline matters too. The guys pointed out that Johnson and Aaron Glenn know each other well, and they think that familiarity helps Johnson by a mile. They allowed for some letdown potential for the Bears coming off Monday, but Chicago is at home, and both picks landed there.
