College Football Pick Of The Day (October 1st): NCAA Week 5 Spread Pick
For today’s Week 5 college football pick of the day, I’m circling a big showdown between Ohio State and Iowa. The Buckeyes are 14.5-point road favorites as they head to Kinnick Stadium in Iowa City to take on the Hawkeyes.
Ohio State has only been tested once this year. That was on the road against Texas, a game they lost by one point. Meanwhile, Iowa is undefeated at home and just beat Michigan on the road as underdogs.
These two teams haven’t played for two years. However, they haven’t played in Iowa City in nine years. Iowa won that game 55-24. Say what you want about the Iowa Hawkeyes not having much of an offense. They don’t need to have a lights-out offense. They have a strong defense and Kirk Ferentz. They’re 4-0 for a reason. From beatdowns of lesser opponents to rivalry games they’ve pulled out, this team is believing. There’s no way I’m fading them at home by over two touchdowns.
Give me Iowa +14.5, as they’ll give the Buckeyes a run for their money.
