College Football Pick Of The Day (September 29th): NCAA Week 5 Spread Pick
For today’s Week 5 college football pick of the day, I’m looking at 24th-ranked Kentucky and South Carolina. The Gamecocks are a three-point home favorite in Columbia. That feels like a lot of juice for a 2-2 team coming off back-to-back losses.
Kentucky is 3-1 and playing with a real identity. The Wildcats already beat Texas A&M 31-21. Then they ran for 276 yards in a 45-21 win over South Alabama. C.J. Baxter, Jason Pattreson, and Javonte Barnes all topped 100 yards in that game. Kenny Minchey has eight touchdown passes to just one interception. This offense can finish drives even when the passing game isn’t super flashy.
South Carolina is a different story this week. They got punched in the mouth at Alabama, 49-18. Now they have to rest at Williams-Brice. Of course, home field matters and the series matters, too. The Gamecocks have won four straight against Kentucky. However, this South Carolina team looks like they’re lacking some confidence.
Catching three points when your team looks to be the one with better form is a side I want to jump on. Give me Kentucky +3 and sprinkle a little on the moneyline.
