College Football once again delivered last week! The upsets were rolling as Oklahoma State took down #6-ranked Oregon as 23.5-point underdogs. Then Michigan, after narrowly escaping with a “win” against Western Michigan, plays the underdog role as they upset the #11 Oklahoma Sooners. Iowa State held Iowa down until late as dogs of more than two touchdowns. With dogs barking loud this College Football season, let’s head into The Upset Factory and cook up our College Football Upset Parlay for Week 3 action.
North Carolina (+150)
The Tar Heels treated us well, kicking the season off with an upset in Ireland. We’ll head back to them this week over a fellow ACC team in Clemson, who hasn’t looked great early. Clemson was blown out by LSU in Week 1. They beat Georgia Southern last week, but even that wasn’t very impressive. Their veteran quarterback Christopher Vizzina has an elbow injury/has also been benched in favor of freshman Tait Reynolds. Reynolds wasn’t good enough to beat out Vizzina, and now they have to turn to him because they’ve looked bad early.
On the side, Belichick and company scored the big win overseas, then came home and took care of business against East Tennessee State. The stigma that Bill can’t do it on this level lingers, but in the small sample we have this season, one of the greatest head football coaches of all time has shown some life. It’s not easy going into Clemson and getting a win, but this will be a statement game for the Tar Heels, for Belichick, and a big red flag for Clemson.
North Texas (+125)
From one “North” to another, we head south to North Texas. They started the season facing the reigning champion Indiana Hoosiers. That game went as expected. The Mean Green though in Week 2, just blew the doors off UNLV 44-6 while racking up 444 yards on offense. Tayven Jackson accounted for three total touchdowns, while Jahiem White ran for 124 yards. Jackson has been efficient through two games, completing 68.5% of his passes. White is averaging 7.1 yards per carry, giving the Mean Green a balanced offensive attack. Their defense was strong against UNLV, winning the turnover battle 4-0 last week.
Texas State was blown out by the Longhorns, no surprise in Week 1. However, they didn’t rebound well in Week 2, falling at home to the UTSA Roadrunners. Quarterback Brad Jackson struggled last week, throwing two interceptions. I have North Texas as the better team overall, and this game is going into a shootout. North Texas has already proven they’ll be ready for that, and we haven’t seen it yet from Texas State. Give me the Mean Green in this Texas battle.
Montana (+700)
Tired of the small dogs? Hello Montana Grizzlies. We’re headed down to the FCS this week to find our big dog, and it comes in the form of a Grizzly. Montana heads to Reser Stadium in Corvallis, Oregon, to take on the Oregon State Beavers. They might be from different “levels” of College Football, but make no mistake: this Montana Squad is extremely talented. Last season the Grizzlies only lost two games, both to their in-state rivals at Montana State, the second loss in the semifinals of the FCS playoffs.
Bobby Kennedy took over for the winningest coach in the FCS when Bobby Hauck left. But as I wrote in the preseason, Kennedy has been around this program, and the transition should be seamless. So far, it has been. The team has nine returning starters on defense, a massive number for any College Football program. Quarterback Keali’i Ah Yat returned; he was a 2025 Payton Award finalist and is one of the most experienced quarterbacks in the FCS. Running back Eli Gillman is also back; he was the 2025 Big Sky Offensive Player of the Year and had 1,540 rushing yards and 21 touchdowns.
As far as Oregon State is concerned, they’ve actually held their own against two ranked teams to start the year on the scoreboard. They haven’t been overly impressive, only rushing for 47.5 yards per game. Their offensive line has struggled, as has their rushing defense. If you can find player props on Eli Gillman in this game, take them. This is a massive game for Montana; they’ll come in prepared, ready to execute, and playing Montana Football. Oregon State will likely be overlooking them a little. Montana is a great football team, and if they can land the first punch early, then control the game, Oregon State could be in trouble. One more fun fact: these teams last played in 1996 and 1990 at Corvallis. Montana won both matchups.
