New York Mets vs Miami Marlins

National League East rivals the New York Mets and the Miami Marlins play the penultimate game of the season against each other tomorrow night in Miami, with the Mets taking Game 1 of this series. It’s been a tight season series between the two teams, with the Marlins holding a slight 6-5 lead over the Mets heading into Tuesday’s action.

However, in the overall standings, Miami is a full 6.5 games ahead of New York, an unfathomable reality considering the Mets were predicted to win 90 games this season (they are 66-78) and the Marlins 75 (they are 72-73). The Mets are always going to Met.

Miami has been buoyed by a stellar home mark this year, going 43-30 at loanDepot Park, the seventh-best home record in the majors. The Marlins have also benefited from a surprising bounceback season from former Cy Young winner Sandy Alcantara, who leads the majors in games started and innings pitched. He’ll be taking the mound tomorrow for the home side.

This all adds up to Miami on the moneyline being my best bet on Tuesday.
