MLB NRFI and YRFI Picks – September 2

Miami Marlins vs. Kansas City Royals

First Pitch – 7:40 pm EST
Kaufman Stadium – Kansas City, MO
Broadcast – MLB TV

We cashed on this series on Tuesday and are going to ride that into Wednesday as well. That’s because the flaws of the Marlins hitters are still clear. They rank in the bottom third of the league when it comes to first inning runs and overall scoring. That won’t be as easy a trend to turn around with Noah Cameron toeing the rubber. Cameron has been lights out lately for the Royals. Over his last three starts (20.0 innings), he’s allowed just two earned runs for a 0.90 ERA. If someone is going to change that trend, it is unlikely to be this Miami lineup.

If the Miami lineup is one to fade, then Kansas City is certainly in that bucket too. They’re even worse than the Marlins in terms of run scoring and have been on an ugly skid as of late. They’ve scored just two runs over their last two games and are under 4.00 runs per game over their last four. Meanwhile, Eury Perez is another pitcher who is on a roll. He has lowered his ERA to 3.44 following two solid months and is poised to help us cash this one.

NRFI/YRFI Bet for September 2: No (TBD)

Chicago White Sox vs. Houston Astros

First Pitch – 8:10 pm EST
Daikin Park – Houston, TX
Broadcast – MLB TV

These two teams have not come out firing in this series. Through the first two games of this series, there have been no runs scored in the first or second inning. Additionally, on Tuesday, they were scoreless through five innings (which is when this article went to press). Being that neither team has lit the scoreboard on fire lately, there is plenty of reason to like the NRFI in this series.

In addition to that, we have some solid pitching in this one. Hayden Wesneski will be the first one to get the ball. He’s on a solid run where he’s only allowed one earned run over his last 10.0 innings – all while fanning 10 batters. That’s helped to get his ERA down under 4.00. The White Sox have Davis Martin on the mound, who hasn’t been killing it lately. However, with his strikeout stuff still high and the Astros struggling, he should be able to get us three quick outs.

NRFI/YRFI Bet for September 2: No (TBD)

Bonus Pick: Yankees/Angels NRFI (TBD)
