MMA Regional Pick of the Week: LFA 240
LFA Lightweight Fight: Dedrek Sanders vs Luis Gomez
Card Start Time: Friday (8/28), 6:30pm EST (VICE TV)
The LFA 240 fight card has been in flux a bit. They lost a couple of fights including one with Stan Dorsainvil, who signed with the UFC and won his debut against Gauge Young. Remaining in the main event is a fight between a couple of guys who have seen some ups and downs in their career. Although it isn’t quite the prospect battle we expect from an LFA main event, there is so much to like about this fight.
Dedrek Sanders has been around the block. He’s fought for LFA in big spots and also spent some time in PFL. He’s a guy that promoters love to run out there thanks to the fact that he always brings the action. He gets after it – throwing big shots and putting the pressure on his opponents.
However, while Sanders is a tough out, he is facing someone that should be able to take advantage of his aggression. Luis Gomez has fantastic counters and carries tons of power in his right hand. If Sanders gets out over his skis a bit in an exchange, it could take just one mistake for Gomez to get the underdog line to hit.
