College Football season is here! We are mere days from the 2026 Aer Lingus College Football Classic featuring North Carolina and TCU squaring off at Aviva Stadium in Dublin, Ireland on August 29th. As we continue our never-ending search for the best bets of the 2026 College Football season, we get to the top win totals. Who can we trust to get it done for us this year? Let’s dive in.
Oklahoma Sooners 9+ Wins (+130)
Brent Venables is building something special in Norman, and they know it. They just locked their guy up to a long-term deal to continue this build. He’s now had 10 wins twice in his four seasons, and did so last year in just their second year in the SEC. Not only did he win a lot of games, but he also took the next step, and the Sooners played in the College Football Playoffs. The team fell to fellow SEC opponent Alabama, but had a good showing nonetheless. The expectations in Norman are no less this year. Senior quarterback John Mateer is back to once again lead the team. The dual-threat stud was key to Oklahoma making the Playoff last year. His favorite weapon, wide receiver Isiah Sategna, returns as well.
The Sooners didn’t sleep in the off-season, making key transfer portal additions to help bolster another run in 2026. Their defense is back and better than ever. It may be the stronger unit on this solid team. Expectations are to compete for an SEC title and College Football Playoff berth, but all we need is nine wins. Sign me up.
Iowa Over 7.5 Wins (-130)
As a Nebraska Huskers fan, it pains me to make this bet. It is, however, the best bet on the board, and I’m here to cash bets. Iowa has great coaching; Kirk Ferentz is never going to take them to a National Championship game, but he’ll win games for them each year. Their defense is elite, and that’s how Iowa football wins games. They lost some absolute studs to the NFL, but they always reload.
Phil Parker’s squad has been a top-20 unit in the country the last five years in a row, even ranking second in 2022. They were one of the best in the country at stopping teams on third down last year, and were #1 in fourth-down stops. Who might their quarterback be when they get to Week 1? Does it really matter? It’s Iowa football: run the ball down your throats, make the game slow down, and win at least eight games.
San Diego State Over 7.5 Wins (+130)
San Diego State’s Aztecs are a team that should see instant success in the new PAC-12. Sean Lewis is in his third year as the head coach, giving the program some stability they haven’t had in some time. Jayden Denegal returns at quarterback for the team, and he’s got a bona fide superstar in the backfield with him in running back Lucky Sutton. The Aztecs won nine games in 2025. While they lost some strong contributors from an amazing defense, they’ve done a good job replacing those guys and are expected to have one of the better defenses in the conference. They are the second favorite in the conference odds; they won more last year, but their number is set low at just 7.5. Over is a smash.
Arizona State Over 6.5 Regular Season Wins (-110)
After being picked to win the conference last season, the mighty have certainly fallen in their expectations. It’s understandable; they have quite a bit of star power to replace. The Sun Devils lost star quarterback Sam Leavitt, first-round NFL Draft pick wide receiver Jordan Tyson, along with many key defensive contributors. They won’t be easy to replace, but Kenny Dillingham will get the job done. The team could have lost their head coach to Michigan, which tried wooing the 36-year-old. But Dillingham chose to stay in Tempe, and he didn’t do that to win six or fewer games. He’s building a team, and he’s a coach that can be trusted.
The biggest question for the Devils is sophomore quarterback Cutter Boley. What a name, first off, but he’s also a stud. The Kentucky transfer stands 6-5 and is a pro-style passer. He also has sneaky athleticism. As long as Boley isn’t a flop, this Devil defense is powerful. Behind CJ Fite on the defensive line, the team scored big in the transfer portal with Jalen Thompson and Emar’rion Winston to crank up the pass rush. Dillingham is the big difference here; this team wins at least seven games. Don’t be shocked if they win 10.
Florida Over 7.5 Wins (+130)
Jon Sumrall showed everyone what he was made of when he stuck with his team through their College Football Playoff game instead of abandoning them. He overhauled a Gator team that struggled in 2025, with 20+ transfer portal players. Most of whom are coming from Power Four schools. The talent will be there, and Florida has the resources. Sumrall has immediately turned every program he’s touched around. At Troy, he won 12 games in year one, and at Tulane nine. He’s had double-digit wins in three of his four years as a head coach, and seems to have the chops. The SEC won’t be easy, but I believe Sumrall was the right man for the job, and he’ll put together a tough, scrappy team from day one.
