Phoenix Mercury vs Los Angeles Sparks
Start Time: 10:00 PM EST
Due to a scheduling conflict at crypto.com Arena tomorrow night (a Benson Boone concert), the Los Angeles Sparks will host the Phoenix Mercury instead at the Galen Center on the campus of the University of Southern California. This actually may be a positive for the Sparks, because they’ve been bad at home the past two seasons.
Also a positive for the home side is that their former superstar, Kelsey Plum, will be on the sidelines and not on the court tomorrow night for her new team, the Mercury, due to a calf injury (ironically, the player she was traded for, Monique Akoa Makani, is questionable to play on Tuesday as well).
The addition of Plum hasn’t really sparked (pun intended) the Mercury, as they’ve dropped three straight games and four of their last five. They also have struggled against L.A. this season, losing two of three.
After the requisite number crunching, my line is Los Angeles -2.5, so I’ll gladly take the Sparks plus the points.
