MMA Main Card Pick of the Week: UFC 330
UFC 330: Makhachev vs Garry
Main Card Start Time: 9:00 PM EST
We have two titles on the line on Saturday in Philadlephia, with the main event a battle for Islam Makhachev’s newly won UFC Welterweight Championship. The long-time UFC champion (primarily at lightweight) from Dagestan, Russia, will defend his strap against top Irish contender Ian Machado Garry in the Xfinity Mobile Arena.
Don’t let the wide betting line fool you – this will be a real test for Makhachev in his first 170-pound title defense. Garry has the length, speed, and defensive instincts to make this hard work for the champ. But in the end, I think the Irishman doesn’t have enough offensive tools to usurp the king. Trying to survive (and win) 25 minutes against Makhachev is a fool’s errand.
