MMA Same Game Parlay of the Week: UFC Freedom 250
UFC Freedom 250 Lightweight Fight: Michael Chandler vs Mauricio Ruffy
Start Time: 8:00pm EST (Paramount+)
While the lines are wide on a lot of the fights on this card, there are some same-game parlays that you can put together that should hit regardless of the tenor of the fight. One takes place in one of the early fights with a -600 moneyline that nobody is looking to play.
Mauricio Ruffy enters Sunday’s card as a huge favorite over Michael Chandler. While I do think he’ll walk away with the win, that juice may not be worth the squeeze. Instead, we’ll look to the primary method of all of Ruffy’s wins – his hands. The guy loves to get reckless and let them go. Looking at the slate, you can add him to get 35+ significant strikes at a reasonable rate. He’s met that mark in three of his six fights, but he’s 3-1 against the line when the fight gets to the second round. Chandler is 2-5 in the UFC, but has never been beaten in the first round. That should be a good sign that Ruffy gets his strikes in.
We’ll pair that with a takedown from Chandler. While he often gets suckered into striking more than he should, he does have a takedown in four of his last five fights. The only fight without one is when he faced a tough grappler in Charles Oliveira. He avoided the ground in that one, but shouldn’t do so here.
If the gameplans for these two fighters remain relatively stable, this should be a plus-money parlay that cashes quickly.
