Yes, Game 4 of the NBA Finals was as memorable as they come, and the New York Knicks indeed pulled off a historic, improbable comeback to pull within one win of their first NBA Championship since 1973, but that’s burying the lede. The Knicks failed to cover the modest 1.5-point spread like I said they would, so I’m still not happy with them. Here are your NBA Finals predictions and preview for Saturday, June 13th.

New York Knicks vs San Antonio Spurs

As much as that was an epic comeback by the New York Knicks in Game 4, it was as much an epic collapse on the side of the San Antonio Spurs. Fatigue and bonehead plays on the court (and the sidelines) contributed as much to the loss as the Knicks catching fire.
So how do the young Spurs bounce back from Game 4? I don’t think they do. Victor Wembanyama, who has only really played one game up to the level expected of him in this series and is settling for too many threes, is still going to be fatigued and low energy. And while playing at home, along with the Knicks’ (probable) subliminal desire to win the championship on their home floor, might allow the Spurs to stave off elimination for one more game, I don’t think they’ll cover this wide a spread.
