Connecticut Sun vs Toronto Tempo
Start Time: 7:00 PM EST
We’re in the midst of WNBA Commissioner’s Cup season, with more action going down tomorrow north of the border. I’m going to go out on a limb and predict that the Connecticut Sun, 0-3 in Cup action and 2-11 for the season, are not going to bring home the trophy this season. Any trophies.
The Toronto Tempo probably aren’t going to either, but they are exceeding most people’s expectations in their first season of existence. But not mine. Sitting at 6-5 (1-1 in Cup games), the Tempo are a solid, middle-of-the-pack WNBA team, which is something the Sun can not claim.
Yet, we continue to get nice lines on Toronto at the books. Bettors and bookies tend to underestimate WNBA expansion teams, as they did with the Golden State Valkyries last year. Such is the case again tomorrow. My line for this game is Toronto -14.5, so I’ll gladly take them on the spread.
