Daily Dingers For Thursday (June 4th): Best & Most Fun Home Run Bets

San Diego Padres vs Philadelphia Phillies

We’ve got plenty of games on the MLB slate for Thursday, but both of my home run prop bets are coming from the day’s early game, as the San Diego Padres and the Philadelphia Phillies wrap up their season series. I’ve got one obvious play, one not so much.

For the obvious one (if such a thing can be said for predicting home runs), we go to the home side and pick up future Hall of Famer Bryce Harper. After “only” hitting 27 home runs last season, Harper is up to 14 already this year, including one in Game 1 of this series against the Padres. And he has two homers in only five career at-bats against tomorrow’s starter, Lucas Giolito.

Young Padre Jackson Merrill has seen his power numbers drop all three seasons in the majors, which is a concern. He only has five home runs this season, but he likes hitting against Zack Wheeler, who is on the bump tomorrow. Merrill has two dingers in seven career at-bats against the ace.

Best Bet: Bryce Harper (+470), Jackson Merrill (+1200)
