MMA Same Game Parlay of the Week: UFC Vegas 117
UFC Vegas 117 Featherweight Fight: Doo Ho Choi vs Daniel Santos
Start Time: 5:00pm EST (Paramount+)
While the featherweight fight in the main event has all the title implications, the featherweight fight in the co-main brings all my same-game parlay intrigue. In this fight, we have a couple of fighters known for mixing things up with the hands and the takedowns. While “Korean Superboy” is coming off a layoff, he showed some solid grappling last time to go with his usually strong striking. Meanwhile “Willycat” has some big aggression and always spams the takedowns.
Because of the pace of this fight, I really like the chances of Santos to get at least one takedown. These two are sure to clash into the clinch often in this fight. Santos has hit at least one takedown in each of his last four fights and has shot 26 during that span (6.5 per fight).
Choi is no stranger to scoring a takedown either. He’s hit at least two in back-to-back fights, which includes four in a ground and pound win last fight. His strong judo should let him counter at least one of Santos’ attempts into a takedown for himself.
