Champions League: Quarterfinals Leg 1 – Picks, Predictions, and Best Bets

Real Madrid (+180) over Bayern Munich

On one hand, you could look at the results from the Round of 16 and it makes Bayern Munich look incredible. They won on the aggregate by a score of 10-2. However, they did have a bit of an easy matchup. They faced Atalanta, who only scored 10 goals in eight league phase games before squeeking by Borussia Dortmund.

Real Madrid on the other hand was given a tough task in Manchester City. Thibaut Courtois stood on his head and kept the powerful offense from England at bay. He and the defense should be able to calm this offense – especially in a home game.

Barcelona vs Athletico Madrid – Both Teams to Score = No (+165)

Some look at their recent game in La Liga, see a 2-1 score, and want to bet that they’ll both get one again. However, historically, this series is one that has been one-sided lately. However, three of the four games prior to that ended with one team shutout. If you look at the last seven years of run ins between these two clubs, just over 59% end with a blank on at least one side. When you can get a trend like that and plus-money on it, you can’t leave it there.

Paris Saint-Germain (-135) over Liverpool

The speed of which PSG gets off to a start is something to behold. They torched Chelsea in the last round by scoring three goals over the first 15 minutes of the two legs combined. Forward Bradley Barcola was responsible for two of those three tallies. Liverpool has had some issues with falling behind lately. They have lost two straight Premier League games due to falling behind early – which includes an ugly 2-1 loss to Brighton & Hove Albion. In that match, they gave up a goal to Danny Welbeck in the first 15 minutes as well. Look for PSG to strike early and not let Liverpool back in.
