MMA Regional Pick of the Week: Cage Warriors 203
Cage Warrriors Lightweight Fight: Daniel Konrad vs Jordan Vucenic
Card Start Time: Friday (3/20), 12:00pm EST (ESPN+)
On Friday, we have tons of regional action – including Cage Warriors, which happens right down the street from the UFC’s offering on Saturday. On the main card, there is a lightweight fight in which recency bias is playing a huge role with the books.
Daniel Konrad, despite his rough record, is just slight underdog on Friday. A big part of the reason is that he’s coming off the biggest victory of his career when he hit a flying armbar on George Hardwick. The grappling skills have always been the difference maker for him, which is why I think his odds are being overestimated here.
Jordan Vucenic has always been a tough wrestler and an excellent scrambler. He’s mixed it up on the ground with fighters that are far better than Konrad. Despite it being Konrad’s biggest strength, he should be at a disadvantage in this one should it go there. If it stays on the feet, Vucenic should be much faster and levels sharper.
Vucenic should have the advantage in every avenue of this fight. As a result, the number we’re getting on Vucenic here looks like an absolute steal.
