Prelim Pick of the Week: UFC London
UFC Featherweight Fight: Nathaniel Wood vs Losene Keita
Start Time: Saturday (3/21) 1:00pm EST (Paramount+)
Early on in the card, the UFC features a pair of solid veterans at 145lbs looking to make their stake at a spot in the top 15. Nathaniel Wood is coming off a controversial decision over Jose Miguel Delgado and looking to make a more definitive statement. Losene Kieta comes over from Oktagon MMA, where he was a double division champion. However, a failed weight cut in his debut has left him without a fight in his new promotion yet.
In this one, I favor the newcomer. Keita has always been able to hang with strong technical strikers on the feet. We saw that Wood could hang with Delgado in his last fight, but did struggle to be the one landing the bigger shots. That should be the case here as well – with Keita being a guy who has always packed a lot of power.
I don’t really expect either of these two fighters to work to the ground, so with a large advantage on the feet, I’ll ride with the Belgian.
