It’s ‘numbered event’ time again in the UFC, with UFC 326 going down this Saturday in the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada. It’s not the strongest card on paper, but two fan favorites battle in the main event. For my MMA Main Card Pick of the Week: UFC 326, I’ve got your winner for the mythical “BMF” Title main event. MMA Main Card Pick of the Week: UFC 326
UFC 326: Holloway vs Oliveira 2
Main Card Start Time: 9:00 PM EST
Lucky for the UFC, they created the made-up “Baddest Mother-bleeper” Title a few years ago, because they can now pretend there’s a legit championship on the line in the main event on Saturday.
Max Holloway vs Charles Oliveira will be a banger, title or no title up for grabs, as both men bring it, and both are very popular fighters. This is, however, a rematch, with Holloway winning the first meeting in 2015 after a neck injury caused Oliveira to quit.
I expect Holloway to successfully defend his “BMF” crown on Saturday, as he only loses to the tippy-top of the sport – the champions – which Oliveira is not at this point in his career. Holloway should be able to use his solid takedown defense to keep this fight standing and then put his incredible striking pace on Oliveira.
