UFC Fight Night: Moreno vs Kavanagh (aka UFC Mexico City)
Start Time: 5:00 PM EST
It’s a rough week for betting lines in the UFC, as we’ve got loads of wide ones in Mexico City. Six of the 13 fights have odds at -300 or higher, with several of those north of -500. So I’m just prefacing why my best bet for tomorrow is a little chalkier than I would prefer.
My play comes from the co-main event, where surging bantamweight prospect David Martinez, winner of nine straight (and 13-1 as a pro), faces veteran Marlon ‘Chito’ Vera. This is the biggest fight of Martinez’s career, but I think he’s up to the task.
Vera is a notoriously slow starter, punting away the first round in fights. He’s also well past his prime and gets hit too often to survive against a slugger like Martinez, who has won 10 of his 13 fights via knockout and also fights at a higher pace than Vera.
