I’ve zeroed in on a Metropolitan Division game tomorrow night, between two teams right beside each other in the standings – the fifth-place Washington Capitals hosting the #6 Philadelphia Flyers. This is the second of four meetings between the teams this season, with the Flyers winning the first game on their home ice.
I expect the home team, the Capitals, to hold serve tomorrow night. Washington is an above-average team on their home ice, posting a 17-10-3 record in front of their faithful, the 12th-best home mark in the league. Not only are the Flyers a below-average team on the road, but they also have a weaker offense and defense than the Caps (Washington is 12th in both offense and defense, while Philadelphia is 23rd in offense and 19th in defense).
Look for Washington to kick off the NHL restart with a big divisional win and for us to hit our bet.
