MMA Main Card Pick of the Week: UFC Mexico City
UFC Fight Night: Moreno vs Kavanagh (aka UFC Mexico City)
Main Card Start Time: 8:00 PM EST
Saturday’s main event was originally scheduled to be former two-time UFC Flyweight Champion Brandon Moreno up against Asu Almabayaev. However, Almabayaev injured his hand earlier this month, and young prospect Lone’er Kavanagh is stepping in on short notice.
This is going to be a case of too much too soon for Kavanagh, as the 26-year-old is only 10 fights into his professional MMA career and is facing a former champion on his home turf on short notice. Despite chalking up losses recently, Moreno hasn’t really shown a large dropoff in his skills, and his experience (and the home crowd) should carry him to victory here.
