While the UFC continues to be the king when it comes to MMA and gambling, there is more MMA than ever to bet on now. MMA Regional Pick of the Week: Oktagon 84
Oktagon Welterweight Fight: Daid Kozma vs Jozef Wittner
Card Start Time: Saturday (2/14), 12:00pm EST (Oktagon TV)
The former Oktagon welterweight champion steps into the cage again on Saturday. While he once rolled through opponents, he’s fallen on hard times. In three straight fights, the former champ has been knocked out – the latest of which came via Robert Pukac, who hadn’t knocked anyone out in the six years prior. As a result, the question clearly has to be asked about his chin at this stage of his career. 47 fights will do that to just about anyone.
They’re giving Kozma a fight that is at least a step down in competition. Wittner has also dropped three straight fights and was finished in the most recent one. However, one thing that I’ve always liked about Wittner is his ability to crack. Although he only has three career knockouts, he has wobbled more than his fair share of opponents and clearly has some power in his hands.
At the end of the day, Kozma is likely the more talented fighter. He is quicker and possibly has the better grappling skills. However, with the questions about his chin, I have to imagine Wittner catches him once.
