June 2026 Has a Stacked Sports Calendar for Bettors

In any given year, fans of various sports will mark off various dates as important to them. For football fans, it’s likely to be January and February for the college and NFL Playoffs. For racing fans, it could be May for the Kentucky Derby or November for the Breeders’ Cup Festival. For golfers, it could be April for the Masters, or September for the biannual Ryder Cup. You get the picture.

Anyway, we couldn’t help but notice how stacked June 2026 was in terms of sports action. There are several events that always come in June, of course, not least the NBA Finals and Stanley Cup Finals, but this June has some additional action, which should make the month a huge draw for bettors. Here’s a flavor of what you have to look forward to:

FIFA World Cup

Let’s start with the biggest event in global sports, with apologies to the Olympics and Super Bowl. The North American World Cup, with primary hosting duties in the US, will continue until Mid-July. The expanded tournament means there will be some weak teams in the tournament, and that could lead to some big scorelines. Spain is tipped as the pre-tournament favorite with the majority of sportsbooks.

NBA Finals

The unexpected 7-game series of the 2025 NBA Finals threw up some decent betting opportunities, especially if you were backing the OKC to come from behind during the Finals. OKC is back again as the hot-favorite, and it’s difficult to see an Eastern Conference team with the goods to beat the reigning champion.

Stanley Cup Finals

Most NHL betting sites have the Colorado Avalanche as the favorite to win the Stanley Cup, with Tampa Bay just a smidgen behind. The Playoffs do seem wide open, however, so it could be a different cast of characters by the time we get to June.

UFC White House

Ok, we are guessing that how you feel about this one is going to depend on what side of the political divide you sit on, yet it’s clear that Donald Trump and Dana White will want a stacked card. Michael Chandler is among the names who claims he expects to be on that card.

2026 US Open Golf

Most golf players are not enthused with playing Shinnecock Hills, given that the course has embarrassed many of the top players before. Yet, bettors should love it, as it gives a chance to back some big-odds selections in different markets across the four rounds. Brooks Koepka won the last time the US Open was at Shinnecock Hills, posting a final score of 1 over par, which tells you a lot about the test the players will face.

Three F1 Grand Prix Races

The 2025 F1 season actually delivered a championship battle worth watching, so the hope is that the 2026 season delivers something similar. The early betting suggests that it could be wide open again, so the three races across June – Spain, Monaco, Austria – could go a long way towards firming the markets.

Belmont Stakes

What are the odds that we get a Triple Crown winner in horse racing this year? If it’s still possible by the time we roll around to the Belmont Stakes on June 6, you can be sure that the money will be flying in to back a horse pulling off the feat. Justify (2018) was the last to complete horse racing’s greatest triumph.

Wimbledon

The French Open actually concludes in June, whereas Wimbledon gets underway at the end of the month, so you’ve really got two slams overlapping across the month. We are now in the era of Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner, who are effectively co-favorites for Wimbledon. If you want a bit of value, maybe look to Novak Djokovic to roll back the years one last time.
