The Super Bowl is upon us! Super Bowl LX got here quickly, and in just a few days, it will come and go. We’ll be left sitting here, waiting for the NFL to return in August of this year. That means we have one last opportunity to win some wagers! Let’s take a look at how the Seattle Seahawks got to Super Bowl LX and some best bets for the Seahawks.
Seattle Seahawks Super Bowl LX Preview And Best Bets!
2025 Seattle Seahawks Offseason
Unlike the New England Patriots’ offseason, Seattle’s wasn’t quite as busy. However, that doesn’t mean there weren’t changes as the Seahawks prepped for their Super Bowl LX run. In Mike Macdonald’s second year as coach, they started by making some changes to some big names.
First, they traded Geno Smith to the Raiders, indicating the Seahawks would have a new quarterback. They also traded away star receiver DK Metcalf to the Steelers. These moves were initially thought to be fairly controversial by most. However, with the proof being in the pudding, it’s clear the Seahawks’ brass knew what they were doing. They also made sure to retain contributing defenders such as Josh Jobe, Ernest Jones, and Jarran Reed.
In the free agency, their biggest move was bringing in Sam Darnold. We’ll talk about him more in our Super Bowl LX Seahawks bets. However, Darnold came in and finished fifth in passing yards and fourth in big-time throws. His three-year, $100.5 million contract seems to be worth every penny now that they are in the Super Bowl.
While not making as big an impact as Sam Darnold, they also brought in veterans like Demarcus Lawrence, who finished as the 13th-best graded edge rusher by PFF.com. One other big name they brought in was Cooper Kupp. While Kupp made some plays, it was clear he was not the same receiver he used to be, with age and scheme factoring into his performance.
The draft didn’t exactly bring in stars that made huge contributions. The two players who did contribute were Grey Zabel out of North Dakota State. However, he did not have the best of a season at left guard, allowing 24 pressures from the guard spot and five penalties. The other draft pick that got plenty of playing time was safety Nick Emmanwori. He did decent in coverage and on run defense.
The last move the Seahawks made on their Super Bowl LX run was trading for Rashid Shaheed. He contributed some in the receiving game. However, Shaheed’s value shows up the most in his return game, giving Seattle great field position.
2025 Seattle Seahawks Regular Season & Playoff Recap
The Seattle Seahawks’ regular season leading up to Super Bowl LX went about as well as they could have hoped. They did lose their opening game at home against their rival, the 49ers. However, between that Week 1 game and their Week 8 bye, they only lost one more game. That game was against the Bucs. The Seahawks had defeated the Steelers, Saints, Cardinals, Jaguars, and Texans, and their offense and defense were both performing really well. Sitting at 5-2 going into the bye, they felt good about the start.
Following the bye, the Seahawks only lost one game. It was a road game in Week 11 against their division rival, the Rams. They lost 21-19. They won games against the Commanders, Cardinals, Titans, Vikings, Falcons, Colts, Rams, Panthers, and 49ers.
The team scored 483 total points, which was the third most points in the league this year behind the Rams and the Patriots. They allowed just 292 points, which was the lowest in the NFL. Their offense was eighth in passing yards, 11th in rushing yards, and eighth in total yards. The defense held teams to the third-fewest rushing yards, 10th-lowest passing yards, and sixth-fewest total yards. They were a very well-balanced team with one of the best offenses and one of the best defenses.
The playoffs went smoothly as well for the Seahawks. In the divisional round, they thumped the 49ers, 41-6. They followed that performance against another division rival, the Rams, in the NFC Championship. The Seahawks booked their trip to Super Bowl LX with a 31-27 win over the Rams.
Seattle Seahawks’ Super Bowl LX Bets
The Two Stars On Offense
You can’t start looking at Seattle Seahawks’ Super Bowl LX bets without thinking of Sam Darnold and Jaxon Smith-Njigba. Darnold, who has had a great year, has a passing line set at 228.5 passing yards. He hit this against the Rams when he threw for 346 yards. He’s gone over 228.5 passing yards ten times during the regular season. The Patriots’ defense is a good pass-defending defense. I think Darnold and the Seahawks will have to move the ball down the field in the air to win this one. I like over 228.5 passing yards at -110.
The other star, and perhaps the main Seahawks star, is Jaxon Smith-Njigba. His receiving line is 93.5 yards. I have a suspicion the Patriots will do everything to stop him. However, this is a guy who had ten games with a 30+ yard reception. Due to his big play ability, I’m not touching his yardage.
I do think Christian Gonzalez will work on blanketing him. When Patriots fan Cody Zeeb of the Nascar Gambling Podcast came on Old-Fashioned Football, he pointed out that quarterbacks would have a better QBR spiking the ball every play rather than throwing towards Gonzalez. If he can shut down the majority of the passes coming JSN’s way, then we should have no problem hitting JSN under 6.5 receptions at +116.
Picking Up The Slack
So if Darnold goes over his passing yards, but JSN isn’t the main guy, who on the Seahawks will pick up the slack? That leads to some of my Seattle Seahawks Super Bowl LX bets. Rashid Shaheed hasn’t made a huge impact in the receiving game. However, he’s going to need to. Over 1.5 receptions at -140 feels solid. Cooper Kupp over 2.5 receptions at -172 is awful juiced, but I also like that.
In fact, I like the veteran Cooper Kupp to be relied on while the defense focuses on JSN. You can get him to have 30+ receiving yards at -136, 40+ at +138, and 50+ at +225. I like all of these. Kupp has gone over 36 receiving yards in each playoff game. Over 32.5 sits at -110 and feels like a lock to me.
Shaheed’s receiving line sits at 21.5, with the over being -110. Shaheed had a 51-yard reception against the Rams in the NFC Championship. I think he gets another big play similar to that one. His longest reception is over 14.5 yards at -118, and he’s +420 to have a 30+ reception and +850 to have a 40+ yard reception.
I also like Shaheed as an anytime touchdown scorer at +360. The good news is, this isn’t limited to just his receiving. Shaheed already has a punt return and kick return touchdown for the Seahawks, and on the NFL’s biggest stage, it’s possible he gets another.
