Super Bowl Markets on Kalshi – January 29th
Pro Football Championship MVP?
I get the situation here – quarterbacks have won each of the last three Super Bowl MVP awards and seven out of the last nine. However, I have two things working in the favor of Jaxon Smith-Njigba here.
The first thing is that when it doesn’t go to quarterbacks, it always goes to a wide receiver. They account for the last two MVP awards that didn’t go to signal callers. In addition to that, they account for 25% of the MVP awards in the last 20 years. That’s a hefty amount considering the price you’re paying for the clear number one wide receiver in this game.
The second thing that Smith-Njigba has working for him is the New England defense. The Patriots were far better defending the run this year than they were in the air. Not only did they rank worse in terms of yards allowed, but 69.4% of the touchdowns their defense gave up were through the air.
The other benefit to this spot is that if Smith-Njigba were to catch a long touchdown pass early, this could be a spot you trade out of for value. However, I think it might retain that value if you just let this one ride too.
Pro Football Champion: Seattle vs New England
As I just mentioned, some plays are designed to trade out of when the going gets good. I fully expect that Seattle is going to win this game based on what I’ve seen this year. Their defense is strong and they have the offense that can put up gaudy numbers. However, that doesn’t mean that this spot doesn’t have some value for New England.
At $0.33, the prospect of them winning gives you triple your money. I you don’t expect this game to get bown out really early – and I don’t – then you have to imagine this line will creep up quite a bit. Furthermore, if New England were to get the first score of the game, then you could find yourself with a comfortable payout just moments into the game.
What will the announcers say during the Pro Football Championship?
The Kalshi prediction markets aren’t all about who will win and who will score. The markets offer action on anything with a verifiable outcome. So if you’re going to have some fun watching the game, why not get down with one of these announcers’ props?
The Super Bowl is set with Mike Tirico and Cris Collinsworth on the call. We know, all too well, that Cris Collinsworth isn’t going to go an entire game without mentioning his favorite player. He found a way to during the Rams/Bears game during divisional weekend, and I have to imagine with a young quarterback playing in his first Super Bowl, he’ll find a way to again.
This is, for sure, one of those you’re going to want to get down with and hang on to – no worries about selling this position.
