Best Bet For Friday (January 23rd): NHL Predictions
Anaheim Ducks vs Seattle Kraken
Start Time: 10:00 PM EST
A couple of overachieving teams in the NHL’s Western Conference lock horns tomorrow night when the Seattle Kraken host the Anaheim Ducks. With 53 points in 50 games, the Kraken are well ahead of the 78.5 points their over/under was set at heading into this season, as they look to make the playoffs for only the second time in the franchise’s history.
The Ducks have 55 points in 50 games, which is also better than expected, but it would be much higher if they could figure out how to keep the puck out of their own net. Their 176 goals allowed is second-worst in the league, almost negating their above-average offense.
The Kraken have taken the opposite path to success – a strong defense carrying a weak offense. So who wins this matchup? Let’s go with the defense. Plus, on top of playing at home, Seattle also seems to have Anaheim’s number this season, beating them in both of their meetings thus far.
Seattle on the moneyline is my best bet for Friday.
