Today’s Super Saturday in college hoops has over 140 games on the slate. A schedule like this on a Saturday makes college football look like college hockey. That’s a lot of lines, a lot of numbers, and a lot of situations to handicap. We did a little deep-sea diving, but found some numbers that you’ll want to make sure you lock up. Let’s dig into college basketball picks for Saturday, December 10th.

Mercyhurst at Wagner
Best Bet: 1:00 PM EST
Mercyhurst enters this game with a 6-10 overall record and a 1-9 record on the road. The Lakers are 9-5 overall against the spread and 6-4 ATS on the road.
Wagner comes into this matchup with a 6-8 overall record and a 4-2 mark at home. The Seahawks are 7-4 overall ATS and 1-2 ATS at home.
Wagner has lost two in a row at home to Stonehill and St. Francis (PA). Mercyhurst just battled the Long Island Sharks in the Steinberg Wellness Center to a two-point loss.
We’ve got a matchup of a terrible offense in Mercyhurst against a terrible defense in Wagner. While the Lakers struggle to shoot, they do a great job of taking care of the ball. They’re 71st in the nation in turnovers surrendered. Wagner doesn’t really guard anyone and has a bottom-30 defense in the nation. The Seahawks somehow gave up 93 points to the Bloomfield Deacons in the Spiro Sports Center.
This is likely a one-possession game between two really flawed teams. Mercyhurst’s defense is legit for the NEC, and they should be able to score against a really poor Wagner defense. Lock up the Lakers to stay within 3.5 points and consider a moneyline sprinkle.
Best Bet: Mercyhurst +3.5
Abilene Christian at UT-Arlington
Start Time: 3:00 PM EST
Abilene Christian enters this matchup with a 10-6 overall record and a 3-4 road mark. The Wildcats are 7-6 overall ATS and 4-3 ATS on the road.
UT-Arlington comes into this game with a 10-5 overall record and a 5-1 home record. The Mavericks are 8-5 overall ATS and 3-1 ATS at home.
Abilene Christian is off back-to-back big wins. The Wildcats beat Utah Valley in Abilene and followed that with a win on the road at Tarleton State. UT-Arlington has also won two in a row. The Mavericks clipped Cal Baptist and beat Southern Utah.
The situation says Abilene Christian stumbles. This is the Wildcats’ third straight tough conference game and part of a back-to-back road spot. UT-Arlington has been really good in their own gym, and is the side that should win outright given the spot.
Neither team really has an explosive offense, but UT-Arlington comes into this with a top-30 scoring defense in the nation. The Mavericks are the best team in the nation in three-point shooting percentage against.
On the other side of this matchup, Abilene plays at a slow pace to limit possession, but they do surrender buckets all over the place. The Wildcats allow opponents to shoot 50.0% from the field. That’s 350th in the nation.
UT-Arlington’s defense is nasty, and they can do enough on offense to get the better of Abilene Christian. Lock up the Mavericks to win and cover this game.
Best Bet: UT-Arlington -3
CSUN at CSUF
Start Time: 5:00 PM EST
CSUN enters this game with a 10-7 overall record and a 2-5 road record. The Matadors are 7-8 overall ATS and 3-4 ATS on the road.
CSUF comes into this matchup with a 7-10 overall record and a 4-3 mark at home. The Titans are 9-6 overall ATS and 2-3 ATS at home.
CSUF is off an outright win as a double-digit dog at UC-San Diego. CSUN has won back-to-back home games against Cal Poly and UCSB.
Both of these teams are solid offensively, and both teams are in the top 10 in the nation in pace of play. Expect a lot of points here, but CSUN is a much better team defensively. The Matadors are also the better rebounding team. Both teams should find plenty of open looks in this one, but the Matadors will take better advantage of second-chance rebounds and clean the glass on the defensive end.
CSUF is also off a game in which they shot 52% from three-point range. Their offense is due to regress, and CSUN should benefit. Lock up CSUN and the 1.5 points, or just take it on the moneyline.
Best Bet: CSUN +1.5
