Daily NBA Player Props – January 9th
Michael Porter Jr. – Over 25.5 Points (-107)
Michael Porter Jr. has been on a great scoring run over the last month and a half. Since the calendar turned to December, Porter Jr. is 10-2 against this line. In that span, Porter Jr. has scored 26.0% of the Nets points. On Friday, the Nets face the Clippers, who have given up 123.7 points per game in their last three. If those two averages hold, Porter would be expected to put up over 32 points – which makes this projection look like child’s play.
Bilal Coulibaly – Over 12.5 Points (-120)
Coulibaly handled his first game after the CJ McCollum trade quite well. In 28-minutes of action, he led the team in shot attempts with 14 and finished with 18 points. While he’s averaging just 10.5 points per game at this point during the season, clearly this situation shows a different usage. We can assume that’ll be the norm moving forward until Trae Young is playing. If that’s the case, I expect that this over will be taken care of well before the 4th quarter even starts.
Anthony Black – Over 4.5 Assists (-120)
Jalen Suggs is again hurt, which leaves the Magic looking for someone to dish out the assists. In the three games without Suggs in the lineup, Black has logged 20 assists – or 6.7 per game. Philadelphia is a middle of the pack team in terms of the defensive metrics, which means we should see a decently high scoring game on Friday. That’ll give Black plenty of chances to get the five dimes he needs to make this over hit.
