The UFC may be in its ‘offseason’ and has closed up shop until the end of the month, but that doesn’t mean the MMA world has gone completely dark. For my MMA Underdog Pick of the Week: ARES FC 37, we’re headed to Nice, France, for a live dog on the prelim portion of the card. Let’s get it on, c’mon!

ARES FC 37: AUGEN VS SHIGUEMOTO 2
Start Time: 1:00 PM EST Friday
France’s top MMA promotion, ARES, hosts their first event of the year on Friday, with two title fights atop the lineup. My dog comes from neither of those fights, but instead a lightweight fight on the prelims of Friday’s card.
Morocco’s Sofiane El Fatni faces Ukrainian Andrii Misiuk in a fight between two undefeated prospects, and I’m going with the dog (obviously), El Fatni. As is often the case with my picks, I go with the better striker, and that would be the Moroccan. El Fatni should push the pace on the feet and use his superior striking power to help us cash a plus money bet.
