MMA Main Card Pick of the Week: ARES FC 37
ARES FC 37: AUGEN VS SHIGUEMOTO 2
Main Card Start Time: 1:00 PM EST Friday
France’s top MMA promotion, ARES, hosts their first event of the year on Friday, with two title fights atop the lineup. I’ve zeroed in on the co-main event for my play, which pits current ARES Heavyweight Champion Moreno Kacapor up against the interim champ, Xavier Lessou.
I’m going with the Swiss fighter, Kacapor, to retain his title in this unification bout. The ‘Kung Fu Panda’ is the bigger and more experienced fighter in this matchup, and he’s also the better striker with more finishing power (nine knockouts in 12 pro wins), which is perhaps the most important skill to have in the heavyweight division.
