MMA Main Card Pick of the Week: RIZIN New Year’s Eve

Japan has a rich history of putting on big combat sports events on New Year’s Eve, and MMA promotion RIZIN has kept this tradition alive. This year, they are in the Saitama Super Dome with RIZIN Shiwasu no Cho Tsuwamono Matsuri (Year-End Superpower Festival), which starts late night Tuesday for us in North America.
My best bet comes from the lightweight championship fight in the co-main event, where I expect current champ Roberto ‘Satoshi’ de Souza to ride his world-class grappling (multi-time world champion in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu) to victory over short-notice replacement, Uzbek striker Ilkhom Nazimov.
