Are you like many out there and are bored by the same old odds that you get on every sportsbook? Or maybe you’re sick of the pre-packaged parlays that books try to hit you with that never really hit. Well, if you’re ready to ditch the old, musty ways of the sportsbooks, then you should try out prediction markets with Kalshi. Unlike sportsbooks, Kalshi allows you to trade your positions and to do so on just about anything imaginable. You can make predictions on sport, but also weather predictions, politics predictions, and pop culture predictions as well. For this week, we’re showing you some ways that you can make money in the NFL futures markets.
How to Play with Kalshi
Unlike many of the other ways people attempt to make money predicting the outcome of events, Kalshi is a true prediction market. There are many benefits to a prediction market versus a sportsbook. Firstly, there are so many more options for what you can make predictions on. Want to guess how high BitCoin will get this year? Can you guess who will visit the White House next? Maybe you’re ready to make a prediction about the color of the Gatorade in the National Championship game. All of that is possible through Kalshi.
Not only is Kalshi a place with diverse options for predictions, but they function in a fundementally fairer way. There is more transparency and truth because those driving the numbers are those with skin in the game. By working the wisdom of the crowd in this way, they actually are more accurate that most polls or hand selected betting lines – plus they are not being manipulated by people behind the scenes.
So how do you make money with Kalshi?
When you’ve located a market you’d like to make a prediction in, you buy in on a side. The cost of that yes or no answer will be somewhere between 1 and 99 cents based on how likely it is to come true. Once you’ve pruchased your side, you can make money in two ways. Firstly, you can hold your position and if it comes true, than each share is worth $1. You can also sell your position as it rises and falls in hopes of getting the best value out of what you predicted.

NFL Future Markets on Kalshi – December 24th
NFC Champion
If I’m looking to a prediction market with the chance of selling off shares before the end, perhaps look to the Bears in the NFC. Chicago seems to have a “won’t die” mentality led by Ben Johnson and they keep winning games they don’t seemed destined to win. Despite sitting at the #2 seed in all of the NFC, their shares are hanging out right around $0.11.
My suggestion is to get in on that price now with the idea that this could go up really quickly. If they win next week against the 49ers on the road, that number will likely shoot right up. Plus, you could hang on longer until they’ve set themselves up nicely in the postseason. Currently they’re slotted for a pair of home games, and are the best team in the conference at home. Even just waiting until the wild card round is over would probably pay out handsomely.
NFL MVP Winner
While the Bears are a spot that I think would benefit from looking for a sale point, one I’m getting in on and holding until the end is Stafford for MVP. I hear the arguments for Drake Maye, but they seem based mostly around the Patriots over-performing. Plus, there is some element from the public that likes him just because he isn’t who we are usually talking about at this time.
However, Stafford leads the NFL in passing yards and is likely to take home that crown. Plus, the Rams are a playoff team playing in the toughest division. Those things have historically been more important in the NFL – compared to say the NBA, who does look to tack on new names. As a result, I love Stafford here, especially considering the price is still relatively low.
