MMA Underdog Pick of the Week: OKTAGON 81
OKTAGON 81: Fleury vs Buday
Start Time: Noon EST Sunday (OKTAGON TV)
Sunday’s massive OKTAGON 81, which is emanating from the 20,000-capacity O2 Arena in Prague, is headlined by a heavyweight title fight between two fighters who made their names elsewhere. Current OKTAGON champ Will Fleury found success in Bellator and the PFL before becoming a double-champ (light heavyweight and heavyweight) in OKTAGON; his challenger, Martin Buday, is coming off a 7-1 run in the UFC.
And I’m going with the champ to retain his heavyweight belt. Fleury may be the betting dog, but I like him in the striking department, and I think he can push the pace and use his cardio as an advantage against the challenger.
