The more things change, the more they stay the same. The Carolina Hurricanes, with 44 points, are the top team in the NHL’s Eastern Conference and one of the best teams in the league. The Nashville Predators, meanwhile, are having their second straight rotten season, sitting last in the Central Division with 30 points.
The Hurricanes and the Predators just played a week and a half ago, resulting in a 6-3 win for Carolina on their home ice. Now they conclude their season series at Nashville tomorrow night – but I expect the results to be about the same.
With a top-nine offense and defense, the Hurricanes have few holes in their game. Plus, they are an amazing 10-4-1 away from Raleigh this season. But it may be a sweat for us tomorrow, as while the Hurricanes have won four straight, the last three were via shootout.
