With the UFC on hiatus, KSW takes center stage this weekend. They have a pair of title fights at the top of the card, but plenty of action all the way down the card. Prelim Pick of the Week: KSW 113
KSW Bantamweight Fight: Marcelo Morelli vs Patryk Surdyn
Start Time: Saturday (12/20) 12:00pm EST (Internet PPV)
One of the most deceiving things on the regional scene is record. A lot of time, you’ll see a fighter with a good looking record, and you won’t realize that it doesn’t show how bad he might be. Ditto for those with sub-par records that have fought nothing but the best. In one of the early KSW 113 prelims, we have someone on either side of the spectrum and some odds that we can get after because of it.
If you look at the record of Patryk Surdyn, you might not be blown away. However, he has had great fights with some of the best regional bantamweights in the area. Not only that, but he has extremely quick hands and puts his combinations together well.
Meanwhile, Morelli somehow got a title fight when they needed an opponent this summer. However, prior to that, he hadn’t really fought much in the way of stiff competition. Additionally, he had struggled with some of those names.
I fully expect Surdyn to dance around him and put his hands on him. When he does, he should cash as an underdog for us.
