Detroit Red Wings vs Calgary Flames
Start Time: 8:30 PM EST
One positive of only a few games on the NHL schedule tomorrow is that it has forced me to expand my horizons and include a couple of off-the-radar players in my parlay. One of those players would be the Detroit Red Wings’ James van Riemsdyk.
The former second overall draft pick has had a solid career, averaging 25 goals per season. And while he only has seven so far this year, six of them have come over his last 10 games.
Florida Panthers vs Utah Mammoth
Start Time: 9:00 PM EST
The other unexpected player I’m adding to my parlay on Wednesday is a Florida Panther, Carter Verhaeghe. The three-time Stanley Cup winner is having a similar career and season to van Riemsdyk.
Verhaeghe only has eight goals this year, but like van Reimsdyk, he’s been hot lately, scoring six goals in his last 10 contests. He’s normally a consistent scorer, so there’s no reason he can’t stay hot for a while yet.
