Daily NBA Player Props – December 9th
Kel’el Ware – Over 1.5 Blocks (+146)
Ware has been pretty consistently blocking shots. He has at least one in each of his last seven games and blocked two last time out. I like his chances at getting at least two here thanks to the way that the Magic attack the basket. They currently rank 5th in the league in points in the paint per game. With both Ware and Adebayo in the paint, Orlando will have to choose the less of two evils. The surplus of bigs for the Heat may also allow them to get some mismatches on much shorter players.
Jalen Suggs – Over 19.5 Points (-103)
Suggs was icy cold last time out and came up short of pretty much every offensive prop. However, he was well above the bulk of those marks in the two games prior – going for 23.0 points per game in that span with 3.5 three-pointers. Now Franz Wagner is hurt and won’t be available for this game, which opens up plenty more scoring for the rest of the squad. Add in how dominant the Heat can be defensively down low, and he should get a few extra attempts from range.
Josh Hart – Over 13.5 Points (-109)
Hart has been on fire lately for the Knicks and they’ve been letting him loose even more as a result. He’s scored at least 14 points in six of his last seven games and has averaged 17.2 in that time. A large portion of that has been the aforementioned increase in shots. He is averaging just 8.9 shots per game on the season, but that number has jumped to 10.3 per game in the month of December. With as efficient as he’s been, there is no reason to slow him down for this one.
