Matt Dewoskin ATS College Basketball Picks Record (Est 11/3/2025)
All ATS Selections: 58-42-2
Perfect 3-0 Cards: 5-27
Missouri at Kansas
Start Time: 12:00 PM EST
Missouri comes into this game with an 8-1 overall record, but a 4-5 ATS record. The Tigers are also 1-1 on the road and 1-1 ATS on the road.
Kansas enters this matchup with a 6-3 overall record and a 5-4 ATS record. The Jayhawks are also 3-1 at home and 2-2 ATS at home this year.
Kansas is also off the bad loss at home to UConn. Kansas doesn’t lose back-to-back home games. They also lost to Missouri in Columbia, MO last year. The last time the road team won this matchup outright was in 2022.
Missouri is off a road loss to Notre Dame. However, Notre Dame is by far the best team Missouri has played this year. Before the loss on December 2nd, the toughest opponent for the Tigers was a chippy Minnesota team that Missouri blew out in Columbia, MO. Other than that, the Tigers’ resume is full of mid- and low-majors.
Kansas is also expecting to get starting point guard Darryn Peterson back from injury today. It’s unclear if he’s on a minutes restriction, but it’s unlikely that he’s going to be out there for 30+ minutes. This is his first game back, and it’s clear that Kansas isn’t going to take chances with him.
Despite the recent struggles, Kansas is still Kansas, and The Phog is still The Phog. Missouri’s 8-1 record is more than a little fraudulent, and Kansas will want to send a message. Look for the Jayhawks to get back on track against a regional rival and cover the 5.5 points.
Best Bet: Kansas -5.5
Alabama State at UT-Martin
Start Time: 3:00 PM EST
Alabama State comes into this matchup with a 3-5 overall record and a 3-5 record ATS. The Hornets are also 1-4 overall on the road, but have a 3-5 ATS record away from Montgomery, AL.
UT-Martin enters this matchup with a 6-2 overall record and a 4-2 ATS record. The Skyhawks are 3-0 overall at home, but are only 1-0 ATS at home. They have two home wins against lower division competition.
Alabama State is about to play its sixth straight road game. However, the Hornets have been off since November 26th. That’s over 10 days of not playing in games. There’s a non-zero chance that Alabama State comes out a little flat at the start. The Skyhawks play with pace on offense and pressure on defense. A slow start plus a zesty opponent could bury Alabama State early and help UT-Martin cruise to a cover.
UT-Martin should have no trouble getting past Alabama State in Martin, TN. The number is a little short because we saw the Skyhawks stumble in a few games after looking like world beaters early in the season. This team is disciplined on defense, gets up and down the floor, and has a deep roster. UT-Martin should roll in this one and cover the 4.5 points.
Best Bet: UT-Martin -4.5
Hofstra at Pittsburgh
Start Time: 4:00 PM EST
Pittsburgh comes into this game with a 5-4 overall record, but is 5-2 at home this year. The Panthers are 4-5 ATS overall this season, but have a 4-3 ATS record in Pittsburgh this year.
Hofstra enters this matchup with a 5-4 overall record, but has a 2-4 road record. The Pride has a 7-1 record ATS this year, but is 5-1 ATS away from Nassau County. The Pride has also been a road dog three times this year, and covered all three games.
This game currently has a game total of 134.5 points. Laying 9.5 points with a game that is expected to see fewer than 140 total points is tough. It’s especially tough to lay when both teams playing are a bit more defensive-minded.
Hofstra will show up on the defensive end and has the better shooting team. Pitt has the edge in athleticism and gets to play on their floor.
Pitt has also dropped two of their last three home games. We’ve seen the Panthers vulnerable at home already this year. The Panthers should win this outright, but they could pull a no-show on a sleepy Sunday afternoon. We’ve also seen Hofstra play well as a road underdog. Let’s take Hofstra to stay within the number, but this could be another opportunity for a moneyline sprinkle against the Panthers at home.
Best Bet: Hofstra +9.5
