While the UFC continues to be the king when it comes to MMA and gambling, there is more MMA than ever to bet on now. Promotions all over the world as well as domestic ones are showing up in sportsbooks. The advantage here is that the data is usually quite a bit less sharp than when you’re making MMA predictions for the UFC. So we’ve decided to dig into some each week to get you started on your regional MMA journey. This week we head overseas for FNC 25 from Varaždin, Croatia for our regional MMA pick.

MMA Regional Pick of the Week: FNC 25
FNC 25 Light Heavyweight Fight: Emiliano Sordi vs Tom Breese
Card Start Time: Saturday (11/29), 12:00pm EST (Internet PPV)
The Thanksgiving week is typically pretty barren for MMA events, but FNC in Croatia has put together a solid card with some notable names on it. One of the top fights features a UFC veteran and a Bellator veteran in action – and, of course, a line that we really like.
Emiliano Sordi has had an up and down career. It looked like he was about to break through when he got signed to the Contender Series. However, his chance ended with a quick submission from eventual top-15 talent Ryan Spann. That’s sort of a microcosm of his career in general. His hands have always been good enough to beat a lot of guys, even those near the top, but if he slips up in the grappling early it costs him.
Of course that’s dangerous against a grappler of the caliber of Tom Breese. However, Breese has seen the inverse of that problem. Sure, he’s a great grappler, but if he cannot get you down, it’s usually a short night for him on the feet. He’s been knocked out in two of his last four fights with neither of those fights lasting even half of a round. I think Sordi should do enough to avoid the early ground and find another of those quick finishes.
