We’re usually in for a letdown in the weeks following a big UFC event such as last weekend’s UFC 322, but that is not the case this week. The promotion hosts their first-ever fight card in Qatar this Saturday, and they’re bringing out some big guns for it. For my MMA Parlay of the Week: UFC Qatar, I’ve got an all-heavyweight parlay. MMA Parlay of the Week: UFC Qatar
UFC Fight Night: Tsarukyan vs Hooker (aka UFC Qatar)
Start Time: 10:00 AM EST – (ESPN+)
While it’s true that anything can happen in an MMA fight, it is especially true in the heavyweight division, with that amount of mass and power being thrown around. Yet, I’m throwing caution to the wind and I’m parlaying Saturday’s two heavyweight bouts together.
Am I really taking Waldo Cortes-Acosta, a fighter that I’ve repeatedly said isn’t any good, on short notice and putting him in this parlay? Shockingly, I am. WCA is such a better striker than Shamil Gaziev that I think he wins this matchup.
In Saturday’s heavyweight opener, I like newcomer Denzel Freeman to take care of fellow newcomer Marek Bujlo. Freeman has a much better resume and much better striking skills.
